For the past four years, I have been utterly embarrassed at being an American. I am first generation, as my mother and father were born in Austria and Pakistan, respectively. I have been put in the uncomfortable position by family and friends overseas to explain the actions of my government and I simply can’t. From the first available opportunity, the Women’s March in Washington on January 21, 2017, I have been actively resisting the current administration of the United States of America.
